South East Tributary Restoration

During the fall of 2011 we partnered with the Ministry of Transportation, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and CP Rail within a right-of-way along Highway 7 to restore and enhance a section of salmon habitat.  The restoration included the creation of deep pools, riffles and creating increased habitat complexity. The site was then planted with native shrub species.

This site had the invasive Japanese knotweed growing on the streambank, and the Fraser Valley Invasive Plant Council helped us manage this invasive species from encroaching into the riparian area.
