Activities: Replanting native shrubs and aquatic plants and tour of the restoration site
Things to know:
Light refreshments provided.
Please bring a personal water bottle so we can reduce the paper cups used.
Dress for the weather! Boots, rain gear and gardening gloves are recommended. Event goes rain or shine.
We provide shovels.
This site requires about 2 kms of walking round trip (from car to planting site and back).
Significant restoration and creation of new salmon channels has occurred in the Lower Stave River over the last few years. These efforts are improving the overall biodiversity of the area and helping to increase salmon habitat. But the work is not done, and we need your help replanting the streambanks! Healthy streams and wetlands require healthy vegetation.
