FVWC Watersheds Acknowledgement Awards

Purpose of awards and recognition
The FVWC want's to highlight the importance of people's contributions towards healthy watersheds. These awards allow us to take time out of our day to reflect on how people and their efforts can have a positive impact on our watersheds and communities.

Whether it be for their contributions to restoration and improving our watersheds, or recognizing an individuals dedicated hard work, leadership skills, facilitation, or collaborative approach; or even a funny story or memory, we believe it is important to take time to recognize these individuals! To learn more about the awards and past recipients please see below.

 

Instructions on how to make a nomination:

  1. Please click here to download and complete this form. Please include both your name and contact information and that of the person(s) you are nominating for each award. You can choose to nominate someone for one or all three awards.
  2. Once completed, please email your form to info@fvwc.ca and add “FVWC Award Nomination” in the subject line of your email. (Only emailed forms will be accepted).
  3. Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Golden Shovel Award

This award is a recognition of a watersheds coalition member, volunteer, partner, staff, contractor and/or director who consistently “digs deep” to sustain and enhance the operations of the Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition.

Slippery Salmon Award

 This award is a recognition of a watersheds coalition member, volunteer, partner staff, contractor and/or director who, as luck would have, was able to escape from a slippery situation, unscathed and with a story to share! For, it is in these moments that memories are made!

Haloed Hemlock Award

A recognition of a watersheds coalition member, volunteer, partner, staff, contractor and/or director who has demonstrated watershed conservation leadership. This individual has taken actions to support local, regional, provincial and/or federal / international causes to promote, lead or elevate conservation, science, traditional-ecological knowledge and community values.
